feather bed goose
I'm writting a book in the 1st person point of view, and I feel like I'm saying "I" way too much, please help?

Excerpt: I peered over the edge of the balcony and gulped. It was good hundred feet drop to the cold, hard ground. Suddenly a slight breeze crept in, causing shivers to rack my spine. For a moment I tottered on the smooth stone surface, and with it my will to leave the castle, until I caught myself and quickly jumped back into the warm room. "I have to leave, there is no other way". I told myself for the thousandth time. By staying I would only endanger my family further, and they had endured King Alasandir's wrath for far too long allready. I wandered toward the goose feathered bed I had spent many nights in. Thanks.

it's pretty much unavoidable to say "I" a lot in a first person narrative.
try looking at some books you have that are written the same way and seeing how those authors did it.
i think as long as you change up the beginnings of the sentences and incorporate some descriptions and actions to separate all the "I"s and so not ever sentence starts with "I" you should be ok. you're doing great with it so far.

Thanks for looking at our feather bed goose information.
