Nowadays, the variety of latex being used in mattresses or other such products is a hybrid of natural and artificial latex.
How is this Latex thing good?
Latex foam mattresses have been found to show many desirable properties especially for use in mattresses and other similar products such as pillows etc. Latex itself being a very robust and durable material, the mattresses made from latex have a very long lifespan as they do not wear down and retain their qualities for longer period of times. The hybrid variety of latex with a mix of natural and artificial latex has a very good resilient nature, so they are very suitable for sleeping. Also, the latex foam mattresses are built with pincore holes in the mattress core, which makes it very soft and comfortable.
There are two variations in the manufacturing method that provide two varieties of latex foam mattresses – the Dunlop method and the talalay method. The two different methods give different qualities and hence different costs to the mattresses.
