Can I be occasionally allergic to my cat or would I be allergic all the time?
I have ruled out pretty much all other possible causes of intense itchiness of the skin and very intense sneezing
I have had the cat for eight years and not noticed a problem before.
About 6 months ago I had very intense itching in bed and got rid of a body spray and was ok
I have covered my mattress with an anti-allergen/dust mite cover and have laundered all by bed linen with non-perfume non-allery detergent.
Yesterday I bought a non-allergy duvet cover and I also enclosed my pillows in non-allergy/dust mite zip-up covers and put them in freshly laundered pillowcases.
Last night I went to bed and I was still itching like crazy. I got up and sneezed several times, very intensely.
I cant go to Dr. until Monday and I think I'll go mad if I don't get some sleep by the end of the weekend! I don't think it is scabies because I have no physical contact with anyone nor do I share towels, linens etc

You must be going crazy! If it is any help, you are always allergic to your cat (if you have cat allergies). Allergy is a chronic condition (that means it can be controlled but not cured) caused by a defect in the immune system that causes the body to mis-identify harmless proteins (in the case of cats the protein Fel d1) as evil enemy invaders. Now the degree of reaction can vary depending on the state of your immune system, but the defect and the allergy are always there. If it were scabies, you would be able to look at your skin and see the patches. For some reason they like the skin at the wrist and between the fingers! If your problem is dust mite allergy, the the laundering of bedding would not have helped unless the water was 140 degrees Farenheit. Non-perfume detergent doesn't do anything for dust mites, you have to add something to the water like De-Mite (I personally use the stuff and swear by it). There is a page on the net that tells you how to control cat allergy step by step. I will give you a link to that. Also, if you are sure it is cat allergy (and not dust mite) then you need to start using this stuff called Allerpet/C. I will also give you a link to their website so you can see who in your area sells the stuff. It really works to denature (neutralize) that Fel d1 protein that starts in the cat's saliva and urine. Until you get that all under control, try taking loratadine before you go to bed and see if that will help. Good luck and don't go CrAzY!
